The aim of Sufism is to reach a state of simplicity and pureness (the innocence which is needed to be allowed to heavenly bliss), in order to fulfil the soul’s “Supreme Identity”, or union, with God, as described by mystics of all traditions;

the word “mystic” is related to silence, to the inexpressible, to the heart that is turned upwards, towards the threshold of mystery.
